“Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the ‘sacraments of Christian initiation…the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace.”
Catechism of the Catholic Church 1258
Confirmation in the Archdiocese of New Orleans is conferred in the 11th grade. Holy Name of Jesus prepares students for reception of the sacrament in the months immediately preceding it. Candidates will be expected to participate actively in several mandatory sessions on Sunday afternoons, a retreat, and write up some information on their progress.
We will be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation on Friday, March 24.
Registration for 2022-23 is now closed.

Adults who may not have received the Sacrament of Confirmation are welcome to participate in our preparation program for the sacrament, which will start in January. The sacrament will be celebrated in late Spring. Students from Loyola and Tulane are welcome to participate.
