Each Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church offers the Liturgy of the Word for children up to the 3rd grade. Children are dismissed before the first reading and return after the Creed.
We are not offering this program due to Covid restrictions. If you'd like to discuss the readings with your children, we recommend the sheets at
catholicmom.com and Loyola Press.
Anyone interested in volunteering as a catechist for the children’s’ liturgy should contact the parish center office at 504-865-7430 or Bam Gressett, 504-355-7336, bamconoa@aol.com.
Vacation Bible School provides a one week summer program helping children grow in their knowledge and love for Jesus, the Bible and our Catholic faith, with activities including music, crafts, film, drama, games and snacks. All Volunteers over 16 must have safe environment training.
Vacation Bible School provides a unique approach to learning and retaining the Word of God through the utilization of very holistic methods. VBS affords an environment for early spiritual growth and a sense of community.
Volunteers share an opportunity for meaningful outreach that hopefully results in an increase of youth fellowship as well.
